The finish of an eyelet is not a minor cosmetic detail: it defines how the part integrates with the fabric, its durability against corrosion and wear, and the visual consistency of the final product. Why the finish of an eyelet matters more than it seems

A poorly finished eyelet can ruin an entire order. Three practical reasons:

• Aesthetics: the eyelet is visible. In curtains, leather goods or fashion it is part of the design and must match the fabric and the rest of the hardware.
• Durability: galvanic finishes protect the base metal from corrosion. A nickel-plated or chrome part withstands humidity far better than an untreated one.
• Batch consistency: in large production runs, small tonal variations between finishes are immediately visible. That is why working with a manufacturer that controls the process — rather than a distributor mixing origins — pays off.

Available galvanic finishes

Galvanic coating is applied by electrolytic immersion. It covers the entire surface of the part — including the inside of the hole — and forms a metallic layer bonded to the substrate.

Nickel-plated (matte and bright)

Neutral silver tone, the most versatile finish in our catalogue. Available in two terminations:

• Bright nickel: polished surface that reflects light. Suitable for mid- and high-end manufacturing where the eyelet is on display.
• Matte nickel: satin surface, no reflection. More discreet, ideal for dark fabrics and industrial projects.

Common application: technical curtains, advertising tarps, standard leather goods, industrial covers.

Blackened, antique gold and aged finishes

For parts with a vintage or decorative aesthetic, we offer darkened finishes that mimic natural metal wear:

• Blackened (pavonado): uniform matte black colour, obtained by controlled oxidation of steel.
• Antique gold / aged: darkened gold tone reminiscent of patinated brass. Highly requested in rustic decoration, hospitality and furniture.

If you work with brass eyelets, antique gold combines especially well with rivets of the same tone to keep part consistency.

Enamel finishes and colours

Enamel finishing paints the part with a thermosetting resin that adds colour and rub resistance. It is the option when the design demands a specific colour rather than a metallic tone.

White and black (gloss and matte)

Four permanently stocked finishes:

• Gloss white: the most used in shower curtains and light home textiles.
• Matte white: softer tone, no shine.
• Gloss black: strong contrast, frequent in fashion and dark leather goods.
• Matte black: discreet, technical finish, widely demanded in outdoor manufacturing.

RAL colours on demand

Any colour from the classic RAL chart (≈ 200 references) is available on demand. The most requested ones:

• RAL 3020 (traffic red), RAL 5010 (gentian blue), RAL 6005 (moss green) for advertising projects.
• RAL 7016 (anthracite grey) and RAL 9005 (jet black) for high-end leather goods.
• RAL 1015 (ivory) and RAL 1019 (grey beige) for premium home textiles.

The minimum order for non-standard RAL colours varies depending on reference and quantity. Contact us with your target RAL and volume and we confirm lead time and minimum within 24 hours.

Special metallic tones

Beyond standard galvanic finishes, we produce painted metallic tones that imitate noble metals:

• Bronze: darkened copper tone, popular in restoration and furniture.
• Copper: bright or aged reddish.
• Rose / rose gold: strong trend in mid-range fashion and accessories.
• Platinum / pearl grey: sophisticated finishes for premium manufacturing.

Textured finishes

When colour alone is not enough and the customer seeks tactile differentiation, we offer textures applied over the enamel:

• Hammered (martelé): surface with small irregular reliefs that mimic hammering.
• Satin: smooth texture with very controlled reflection.
• Granulated: fine grain with rough touch, ideal for grip and anti-slip applications.

Textures are usually combined with a base colour (matte black hammered, granulated bronze, etc.) and are especially requested in decoration and fashion projects where the eyelet stops being a functional accessory and becomes a design element.

Minimum order and lead times

The minimum order for special finishes varies depending on the finish and eyelet size:

• Standard galvanic finishes (nickel, blackened): normally no surcharge from regular volumes.
• Stock white/black enamel: immediately available, no added minimum.
• Non-standard RAL colours: require a specific minimum order and production lead time — varies by reference.
• Textures (hammered, granulated, satin): minimum similar to custom RAL; lead times from 2 to 4 weeks depending on size.

How to request special finishes

The process is simple:
